Hey Kyle,
When we talked you mentioned that if I shot with film, or digital, it wouldn't matter, so that got me thinking and I agree. I chose to do these in digital format because i felt that film could have possibly complicated things just a bit but regardless, I'm still interested in incorporating film into my work. The concept of beauty is still the same, and having the discussion with you about how some artists approaches were very deep (ex. the artist you mentioned who did surgical procedures). This got me to think about what it is that we tell ourselves we need to see in ourselves, in strangers, loved ones, etc. As a result I came up with these photographs that are clean, and straight to the point.
Since I unfortunately haven't had a chance to meet with you to talk about my progress as far as this first project goes, I am just setting up a quick link to what i have done so far. The talk we had was very insightful and I really found it helped shape this first set of photographs. If I may, i would like some feedback/ advice as far as what you think are the strengths/weaknesses in your opinion for these photographs. I am adding three of the photographs I've liked so far in this series. I'm not sure yet if they are all going to make it to the series, but i plan to have all of them printed in 16x20. The last three photographs are combinations of eachother and i'm not sure what i am going to do with them... Yet... Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
